Silent Tears
Silent tear on lonely faces Crippling fear in happy places No one sees and no one feels Playing the hand that pain deals Andi Sword 5/5/2015 one that sticks with me still. i painted this wayyyy back when i had a studio in Ashland. i wrote the poetry first, then i painted this oil painting to express it. the painting belongs to my cousin Christie now. we exchanged for some of her amazing photography that i am a proud owner of. as i'm looking at this painting again, right now,

my art is not a whore
my art is not a whore she is not desperate for the admiration of men she will not be a prostitute for money gain or temporary highs she refuses to be ordinary and accommodating to aesthetics rather, she can be a bitch hard to pursue and rarely obtained she will stay hidden and quiet until she perceives what she feels is real her integrity and instinct will not fail her and when the mood and mind are in time with the soul and spirit, she appears sometimes she screams ad charge

throwback journal entry from 1/6/2010
1/6/10 wednesday 1:20pm I woke up early this am ~0600 or so. {my husband} texted no school again. i wanted to go back to sleep, so i laid there a while and heard him leave for work. as i lay there, i started thinking of words and a melody. words & feelings & scenarios of past prayer experiences starting popping up everywhere. i thought, "i need to write this down because it's really good and i'll forget it if i don't". so i layed there a little longer, thinking some more. and

About the truth...
the truth is the truth. truth doesn't care about your feelings, your opinion, your education, your past or present hurts, your diagnosis, your decisions or your regrets. truth damn sure doesn't care about your excuses. so what is your truth? face it and accept it. because the sooner you do, the sooner you will grow and progress to who you really are. the choice is yours. truth doesn't care what you choose. it is what it is...true.

Resplendent
My life is a vapor - but an important and intricate little piece to the lace - the fine needlework and beautifully intricate lace to the veil on the bride of Christ. Just like millions of tiny crystals that have been beautifully designed by the Master, Himself, that shimmer resplendently when they are together. radiant, sparkling and pure - like new snow as it falls and gathers together as a blanket in bright moonlight. written way back, maybe 2010ish. my photo from last Janu

My Thorn
I am sharing a poem i wrote some years ago which i have in a journal. this poem is about the most sad and challenging time of my life. keep in mind, i know there are those who have been through much, much worse circumstances and events of their own...i can think of 2 women right off the top of my head. but this is about where i was at this time of my life and how it still affects me today. i don't like reading it because it takes me straight back to that place. and for me, th

Let's do some catching up...
so, this website has been on my mind from time to time and i actually feel guilty for letting it go so long without an entry of some sort. not that my creative mind hasn't been functioning, it surely has. i have just been distracted with other business since april or so, i reckon. no excuse, though. but that's all i got. so anyhow, i have several little notes in my phone from late night/early morning inspirations that i text to myself so i won't forget. i used to do this with

my sympathy
a wave of memories can overtake you and it suffocates with pain to try and draw another breath is futile & in vain. i see your reasoning more clearly now being numb at any cost to live in your reality brings with it all the loss impossible to forget & never finding any rest your weary mind floats days on end in the fog of your earnest best beloved, i can not save you i don’t know the magic spell to erase the past that’s killing you but i’ll stay here just as well. maybe the d

waiting
written 2/6/20: i’ve spent alot of time waiting on people throughout my lifetime. waiting on a phone call. waiting on a decision. waiting on them to pick me up...for hours. waiting on a visit that never came. waiting on an answer. waiting on them to get there. waiting on them to show up. waiting for a change. waiting on them to come back home...& they didnt. waiting for the right words. waiting on the right time. waiting for their car to pull in my driveway. waiting for a min

her interruption
the echo of screams, the rumble of guttural moans that rudely interrupt the peaceful night, with only the whippoorwills and coyotes to bear witness. 1/2021 Andi Sword (click here to purchase a handwritten copy)
