a wave of memories can overtake you

and it suffocates with pain

to try and draw another breath is futile & in vain.

i see your reasoning more clearly now

being numb at any cost

to live in your reality brings with it all the loss

impossible to forget & never finding any rest

your weary mind floats days on end in the fog of your earnest best

beloved, i can not save you

i don’t know the magic spell

to erase the past that’s killing you

but i’ll stay here just as well.

maybe the day will come

a glimpse of hopeful times

where memories are bottled up
