12x16" mixed media on art board
this one was created in January of 2026. Scott and I were having one of our "art nights" together which i love to do. (obviously, our cats love to join in too!) this is another of my "create while listening to classical music" pieces. i enjoyed this one so much. it took shape so easily for me and just a fun little piece to work with. i began with a line drawing with pencil, then marker. i picked out the shapes that inspired me and went from there. i saw a woman in a pink tutu with a flowery hat dancing in the grass. the white "x" marks the heart of the dancing lady who is having a wonderful time expressing herself without any cares. i worked with acrylic marker, alcohol marker, maybe some charcoal? and finally i used pen and oil pastels. i like this one so much i use it for a screen saver on my phone.
