me vs religion

entry from 12/11/2018: “i’m just trying to purge all the religious bullshit that has been branded on my soul”

this was in relation to my real dislike of the current institution of what folks consider to be their christian duty, and the incredible amount of harm it has done and continues to do to people. don’t get me wrong...i am a child of God. and thats why religion disgusts me. for me, experiencing the love of God is the most freeing and spiritually elevating thing (for lack of a better word) there is. the song “linda james” by nicolas jamerson comes to mind. and when you have that kind of spiritual connection with a purely loving God, everything pales in comparison and you find yourself operating in that relationship. you need no one to “get you there” or approve of the words you say in whatever order. nor do you need another human being to intercede on your part. they’re just as dirty as you are. God says “come to me” and he means it. that’s all. just you & him. no requirements or conditions. i love that.
